Furious 7, the latest in the Fast And The Furious franchise, revved up the emotion for the soundtrack hit, “See You Again.” In 2015, it gave even tough adrenaline-addcited guys a license to shed a tear in the name of a lost loved one.
Wiz Khalifa connects with Charlie Puth for a touching tribute to Furious star Paul Walker, who died in a car accident before the film’s release.
The film broke box office records becoming the ninth biggest opening of all time, while the song and the soundtrack simultaneously sat atop separate Billboard charts for the first time since 8 Mile and Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” did in 2002.
Wiz wrote the raps while Puth collaborated with DJ Frank E for the melody and the chorus.

“I wrote the first verse—I was in the studio with Snoop in the compound and we were just chilling,” Wiz told BET.com. “And the second part, I actually got into another studio in Hollywood and mixed it up.”
He also offered his perspective on the song lyrics. “My whole objective was to make something that everybody can connect with. It feels personal, but it’s something that everybody can feel too.”

Puth said that the words “It’s a long day” just came to him and he hit the booth to record.
“And I just blurted out ‘when I see you again,’” he told EW. “Then [Frank E and I] had this weird moment. We just looked at each other like we had known each other for years.”
The song serves as a type of sendoff in the touching final scene of Furious 7. The video for “See You Again,” which was released in April, was the first rap song to hit a billion views on YouTube. People apparently like to see it again…and again.
