As news spread that Kanye West‘s album title is being changed from SWISH to WAVES, another rapper is hoping the new title is not set in stone.

Wiz Khalifa took to social media to express his issue with the new title.
“Please don’t take the wave,” he tweeted “Max B is the wavy one. He created the wave. There is no wave without him.”
He continues, “He’s the reason I sing on all my songs. That’s the wave. If theres nothing wit that sound ITS NOT WAVY.”
Max B was formerly a member of The Diplomats and Jim Jones’ ByrdGang collective and released various mixtapes and an album, Vigilante Season (2011). Max is currently incarcerated for 75 years on charges of felony murder, kidnapping, robbery and conspiracy.
Please don't take the wave.

Evidently, the message got through to Kanye, he later tweeted acknowledging Max B as well as industry executive and former rapper Andre Harrell.
All respect to Andre Harrel and Max B #Waves
